ERE Recruiting Conference: Spring 2018

Well, that’s a wrap!

Team BountyJobs spent the past few days in not-so-sunny San Diego for the ERE Recruiting Conference featuring the over-arching theme; Enterprise Talent Acquisition: Recruiting that Scales.

We were honored to be a Premier Sponsor as well as to host a roundtable discussion on the topic, ‘Recruiting Passive Candidates’. Our roundtable session was extremely well-attended, as at times it was three rows deep with attendees – we had to keep pulling up more chairs and at one point it became standing room only. Clearly, this topic is a hot one with most talent acquisition pros, as with the historically low unemployment rate the sought-after candidates are already employed. We’ll be publishing a separate piece covering this, so stay tuned!

Purple Squirrel Makes a Splash

Our now famous BojoMojo Purple Squirrel made the trip from Austin with us and was even featured in a video segment.

We’ll make sure he doesn’t forget about the little people on his way to the top! Scroll down below to watch both videos of the squirrel…and the man behind him!

Rubbing Elbows in the Booth

We had a great time chatting with folks that stopped by our booth and are excited about expanding current and new relationships in talent acquisition. We’re pretty sure our booth has become one of the ‘must see’ booths in each conference we attend.  We don’t want to brag, but between our fun, experienced, and knowledgeable team (we’ve been at this over a decade and have the insightful data and marketplace to back it up!), the charming Purple Squirrel, and the fantastic prizes and giveaways…we’re on the short list for many conference-goers.

Fantastic Sessions with ‘Meat’

In addition to all of that, we were glad to be able to sit in on some of the sessions that team ERE put together for us all. The morning of Day 1 included a session, ‘Scale? Scale. Scale!’ from Janice Bryant Howroyd that quickly became an even more valuable session as she covered even more than we thought possible – stemming from her early days in the industry to the current challenges seen now.  A segment from Gretchen Carlson followed, ‘Be Fierce’.  This conversation took a look at Carlson’s expansive career as well as her very public dealings with harassment and assault in the workplace, and described work she has devoted her life to in order to help other women and girls.

 .

The afternoon of Day 2 included a session on ‘Professional Vulnerability: The Future of Connection’ from Mike ‘Batman’ Cohen that looked at the industry as it truly is – people-centric – and how organizations such as Patagonia, Amazon, Apple, have embraced vulnerability on the company level to connect with their audiences on a higher level.

Cheers!

A big thanks to the team behind ERE as each topic dug deep, rather than simply glossing over at a higher level. From employer branding to AI to global talent programs to diversity and inclusion recruiting, there was a hard-hitting session to assist everyone in their own specific interests, goals, and pain points. The feedback we heard in passing from other attendees was that they were impressed with the lineup and happy with the way the conference was put on this year. We hope to see many of you in the Fall, or next year!
