Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that average weekly overtime hours decreased slightly March over February 2018.  In industries such as construction as well as mining and logging, however, have higher year-over-year rates for overtime to make up for labor shortages. BountyJobs Bites March Hiring Continues Positive Trend Per the LinkedIn Workforce Report for April 2018, hiring was up 19.3% year over year in the U.S.  Hiring saw a large burst during the summer months last year, so those year over year comparisons should be interesting.  Financial Services and Insurance, Aerospace/Automotive/Transportation, and Manufacturing/Industrial all had the largest year-over-year gains with 18-20 % increases. BountyJobs Bites Hiring Increases 19% Over Last Year in March LinkedIn’s April Workforce Report states that hiring was up 19.3% year over year in March. This was also 3.1% over February (seasonally adjusted). Cities such as Houston, Phoenix, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Cleveland-Akron not only surpassed the national average but also traditionally strong cities such as New York, Seattle, and San Francisco. U.S. Private Sector Adds Over 240K Jobs in March “US private sector employment rose by 241,000 jobs in March from February amid a “rip-roaring” job market, according to the ADP National Employment Report. ERE Recruiting Conference: Spring 2018

Well, that’s a wrap! Team BountyJobs spent the past few days in not-so-sunny San Diego for the ERE Recruiting Conference featuring the over-arching theme; Enterprise Talent Acquisition: Recruiting that Scales. We were honored to be a Premier Sponsor as well as to host a roundtable discussion on the topic, ‘Recruiting Passive Candidates’. Our roundtable session was extremely well-attended, as at times it was three rows deep with attendees – we had to keep pulling up more chairs and at one point it became standing room only. Clearly, this topic is a hot one with most talent acquisition pros, as with the historically low unemployment rate the sought-after candidates are already employed.
